1. Statement of Intent

Trade Rescue is a referral and booking platform that introduces customers to independent, self-employed contractors providing emergency trade services such as plumbing, gas engineering, electrical work, pest control, and locksmith services.

Trade Rescue takes the health and safety of customers and contractors seriously, but accepts no liability for any injury, damage, or loss arising from works performed by contractors introduced via our platform.


2. Scope of the Policy

This policy applies to:

  • All customers who use Trade Rescue’s platform.

  • All self-employed contractors introduced to customers via Trade Rescue.

  • All third parties interacting with the service.


3. Trade Rescue’s Role and Responsibilities

Trade Rescue will:

  • Act solely as a booking and referral platform to connect customers with independent tradespeople.

  • Make reasonable efforts to ensure that contractors are appropriately qualified, certified, and insured.

  • Maintain up-to-date records and information for reference checks, where relevant.

  • Communicate to customers and contractors that all site-base


4. Contractor Responsibilities

Each independent contractor introduced via Trade Rescue agrees to:

  • Take full legal responsibility for health and safety at all times during their work.

  • Comply with all relevant UK legislation, including but not limited to:

    • Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974

    • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH)

    • The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989

    • The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (where applicable)

  • Provide and use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

  • Carry out suitable risk assessments before commencing work.

  • Ensure safe access and safe working practices at the customer’s premises.

  • Hold and maintain valid public liability insurance and any necessary certifications (e.g. Gas Safe, NICEIC).

  • Accept full liability for any accident, damage, injury, or negligence occurring in connection with the work.


5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Ensure the premises are safe and accessible for the contractor.

  • Disclose any known hazards or safety concerns at the property in advance.

  • Follow any reasonable health and safety advice given by the contractor.

  • Understand that Trade Rescue is not responsible for any aspect of the contractor’s behaviour or the health and safety of works undertaken.


6. Incident Reporting

Contractors are required to report any serious incident, accident, or near miss that occurs during their work to the relevant authorities and, if appropriate, to the customer directly.

Trade Rescue does not investigate or mediate any incident or dispute arising from the contractor’s attendance.


7. Policy Enforcement

Contractors who fail to meet health and safety obligations may be removed from Trade Rescue’s list of referred providers.

Trade Rescue reserves the right to terminate relationships with contractors who are found to be operating unsafely or in breach of legal requirements, though this does not imply acceptance of liability.


8. Review & Updates

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated in line with legislative changes or operational requirements.
